• Will my insurance policy cover my lost hearing aids?

  Speak to your home insurer, they will be able to tell you if you are covered on your current policy. We recommend that hearing aid users specify their hearing aids on their insurance policies as soon as they are purchased, for the full amount paid to ensure the correct level of cover. Alternatively you may find that your hearing aids are covered under personal belongings or contents, depending on the wording of your policy. • My hearing aids are damaged, what should I do next?

  If you have damaged your hearing aids, the first step is to get them inspected and confirm if they can be repaired. Countrywide Hearing have in-house experts to help with damage validation, and can send you a report the same day as receiving the aids. Give us a call on 0330 016 5110 to discuss. If you have already confirmed they are beyond repair with your Audiologist, get in touch with your insurer and they will advise you if you are covered, and what the next steps are.

• I don't have insurance cover for my hearing aids, what can I do?

• My hearing aid has a warranty, will that cover loss and damage?

  The simple answer to this is no. Most hearing aids will come with a warranty, usually valid for around 2 years after purchase but often longer. This covers you for any servicing and cleaning of the hearing aid, and replacement of parts if they malfunction or stop working. It does not cover for loss or accidental damage (cracking the outer casing of the hearing aid, water damage, pet damage are just a few examples!) so this is where you would need to contact your insurance company to make a claim.

• What if I've lost one hearing aid, that was part of a pair?

  If the model of hearing aid is still available to order, we can replace one hearing aid on an exact like for like basis for you. We will then pair it up with your existing hearing aid, and look after BOTH hearing aids for you in our lifetime aftercare service. If the hearing aid has been discontinued by the manufacturer, we would need to replace with a new pair for you to ensure compatiblity. You may find we have exclusive access to certain models of hearing aids, and will make you aware of exactly what you are covered for on the first validation call.

• What if I didn't get on with my previous hearing aids, can I swap or upgrade?

  Yes, we want to provide a solution that is best for you. Firstly, you can have any style of hearing aid at no extra cost. Your insurance company will cover you for a like for like replacement as per your policy, however, if you want to upgrade your hearing aids (to rechargeable or smart phone connected aids for example) you can pay us directly any difference in cost, benefitting from our discounts. Prices sometimes start from as little as £50!

• I've been asked to provide the serial number for my hearing aid, where do I find this?

  All hearing aids will have a serial number displayed somewhere on the inside or outside of the hearing aid. The serial number is a unique identifier that provides all the information needed to validate your claim quickly. It's often very small writing, and combination of numbers and letters. You will likely need a magnifying glass! Below these FAQS is a helpful video to show you how to locate your serial number. • I've just bought a new pair of hearing aids, and want to make sure I am properly covered. What do you recommend?

  The best way to insure your hearing aids on your home insurance is to specify them. We recommend that you put the full amount per hearing aid (not including any special offers you received at the time, as these often expire!) This sometimes costs a little extra, but you have the peace of mind that you are fully covered should the worst happen. We also recommend you make sure you are covered for loss and accidental damage claims within the home and away from home, just in case!

• Do you offer finance options for purchasing hearing aids?

  We offer interest free payments on hearing aids at Countrywide Hearing. Minimum deposit of 10% and flexible re-payment terms of 6, 12 or 18 months, whichever suits you and your budget best.
